I have always loved story telling, poems and the natural world around us, so what could possibly be better than combining all three? Barley the Bear Stories was therefore born! My favourite author is (even now) Enid Blyton, so I wanted to create a book that would enthrall children and adults alike. The character of Jack in the book is completely based on my own Jack Russell Terrier. Nearly sixteen years old, he is the boss in my home, and knows it! He has provided myself and my husband with many a comical moment over the years. Having lived a long time, and knowing how to wind me round his little paw, he is the perfect wise friend for an inquisitive bear like Barley.

In addition to creating adventures for Barley and Jack, I have written a selection of poems for my new book 'Life Through A Rhyme'.

Some are comedic, others are melancholy, but they are the observations of a life, (in this instance, mine!)
