Ujjwal Kumar

Dr. Ujjwal Kumar is a distinguished scholar of Pāli language and literature with over 20 years of experience in academia. His educational journey began at Banaras Hindu University and continued at Pune University and the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Kumar started his teaching career in 2006 as an Assistant Professor at the Pune University and has been with the University of Calcutta since 2016, where he currently holds the position of Professor in the Department of Buddhist Studies.

Specializing in Pāli Nīti literature, Dr. Kumar research examines the influence of Brahmanical and Buddhist Sanskrit texts on Pāli works. Dr. Kumar has authored 34 research articles and nine books, making significant contributions to the field. Additionally, Dr. Kumar created a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Buddhist Philosophy of Mind and Mental Healing for the Fo Guang University, Taiwan.
