H Roy Austin

Roy grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. After college and graduate school he joined the Army and served 19 months in Vietnam. He worked for Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN for 29 years with assignments in market research, sales forecasting, and accounting. In 2000 he became the Controller for Savannah Manufacturing which manufactured aseptic drink products. In 2002 he became CFO for D.J. Powers, a 3rd party logistics provider. In 2007 he founded Rockwell Business Solutions providing outsourced CFO and coaching services to small businesses. In 2009 went full time with Rockwell Business Solutions. Having worked with hundreds of small businesses he realized that small businesses are started by people who know how to do the work. But doing the work and running a business are two different skill sets. In particular, they needed help in understanding their financial data, but they also needed to better understand marketing, HR, logistics, etc. In short, they needed a mini MBA program and that led Roy to write The Alligator Business Solution-Small Business Competitive Advantage.

Roy is an avid tennis player playing 4 times a week so he's in pretty good shape just not shaped very good. Roy loves to travel and his trip to Africa in 2018 led him to found Libraries For Kids, Int'l to help rural schools in Kenya that don't have internet establish libraries. Roy is a voracious reader and believes that learning is a life long endeavor. When you finish learning and growing, you are Finished!
