John Palfreyman

John is Founder / CEO of Palfreyman Ventures and until recently served as Non-Executive Director of Novus Property Solutions. He is supervisor and lecturer at the University of Leeds Business School, and also lectures with Salford University Professional Development. John focuses on digital transformation, with a particular interest in combining strategy, a structured approach, agility, culture, leadership and teamwork.

John was previously a director at IBM focusing on the introduction of new technology for commercial benefit and working cross industry and internationally. John worked with high profile early adopters of business blockchain, and in late 2018 published 'Business Blockchain - Unlocking Transformational Potential' which explains the emerging technology and its benefit in terms that a business practitioner can understand.

Following on the success of 'Business Blockchain', John published 'Digital Transformation Handbook' in 2020 giving pragmatic advice in clear business language to practitioners wanting sustained competitive advantage through the use of digital technology. John subsequently published ‘Non-executive Director’s Playbook’ in September 2021 to offer a structured approach to understanding, finding and executing this important board level function.

Outside work, John enjoys family time, walking and cycling in North Yorkshire, swimming and music performance.
