Lukas Gabric

Dr. Lukas Gabric was a semifinalist in the 2013 Thelonious Monk Competition and is the saxophone faculty at the Juilliard MAP preparatory division. Lukas Gabric won the Best Soloist Award and Audience Choice Award at the Getxo Jazz Festival in Spain in 2014 and his performance and lecture activity has led him all around the globe. Lukas Gabric also holds a PhD in musicology. His Dissertation explores Coltrane's blues output through Schenkerian and Formenlehre perspectives. As a musicologist Lukas Gabric published in peer reviewed journals such as Jazz Perspectives. In addition to his self-published method books Lukas Gabric published two method books through Sher Music and Mel Bay in late 2020 and early 2021. His 2019 album "Labor of Love" received reviews from jazz publication in over 7 countries.
