M. A. Castle

M.A.Castle was born in rural Hampshire in 1939, and lived in the countryside as a young child. The family then moved to suburban Surrey, where she grew up, married her first husband and had her family. Some years later they moved to Somerset.

Now widowed, she lives in rural Somerset, where she enjoys her garden with her elderly Jackapoo, and life with friends and family.

WHERE WE ARE NOW, with the same characters as in her first novel, is a stand-alone story, a contemporary fiction, with an insight into a modern marriage - how everyone is affected by a break-up, and gradually how they each find a new path.

When she joined her current creative writing group ten years ago, her tutor quickly assessed her inclination to overload short stories with information, suggesting she try writing a novel.

Easy! Well, not quite. She made up a list of family characters, then added a few more as the unfolding story demanded. Eventually, KEEPER'S was published in 2020.

This year, with work and some knitting together of the many events, another novel has evolved - after rewrites, editing and proofreading, not to mention publishing, her second novel is here - WHERE WE ARE NOW.

M.A.Castle is now eighty-five, but still writing. There may be a third book...
