About the Author
Reginald Ryder is a career higher education professional, adjunct faculty member and entrepreneur. The youngest of five and a twin, was raised in a USAF military family. His travels included stays in South Dakota, Georgia, Oregon, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York and Virginia.
As a first-generation student, he attended Ball State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. After graduation, Reginald worked in the Admissions Offices at his Alma mater and Butler University. He moved East as Director of Multicultural Affairs at Allegheny College. Reginald received his Master of Education in College Student Personnel Administration from James Madison University. Following graduate school, he worked at Cornell University in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning as Director of Multicultural Student Services.
Reginald took a fork in the road and spent several years in K-12 settings as a Community Advocate, Assistant Dean and Director of Guidance. The last 7 years have been in the education technology industry at 2U, serving as a MAT Placement Specialist initially and now an Ed.D. Student Success Specialist in partnership with The Rossier School of Education at The University of Southern California. In 2018, he became an Adjunct Faculty member at Northern Virginia Community College teaching a College Student Success course.

Reginald is a father of two kids, Kristina and Reginald II. He is married to Kim Amaker Ryder. His family lives in the Greater Washington DC Metro area in Virginia.
