Katie Martinez

Katie Martinez (1978-) was born in Birmingham, Alabama, with an active imagination. Since she was little she adored animals, especially cats. Her love of animals inspired her creativity to write her first book for a series she is planning called Jinx and Draco and the Fairy Realms. The first book is titled Merkle and the Hedge Fairies. She plans to take readers on adventures with her Cat and Dog throughout the different fairy realms and kingdoms all while trying to help the fairies be noticed by the humans. Not all of the fairies are interested in helping which causes great conflict for Jinx and Draco.

Katie's inspiration also comes from her two boys, Matthew and Jackson who gives vibrant and exciting ideas to help with plot development. She is also thankful to her husband Krister who is supportive and always by her side through her ideas and endeavors. She sends a special thanks to her 3 stepsons and Ian's girlfriend, Krister (Koko), Ian and Marina, Victor for inspiring her with including these pets in their life to watch and observe and gain ideas for storylines.

Katie is a middle school music teacher in the Miami-Dade County Public School System where she is actively involved with musicals for students at her school, Gateway Environmental K-8 Learning Center. She also maintains a private music teaching studio and is training to become a certified Life and Health Coach.
