Jo Walker

Hello!

Thank you for your interest in my books and stories. I'm Jo Walker and I was born in Wolverhampton in 1977. I've lived in and around the area all of my life, attending the University of Wolverhampton after I left high school. I studied English Literature and History and then went on to complete a post-graduate English Teaching qualification. Since 2000, I've been teaching 11-18 year olds and I love my job very much. I'm currently working with young people with social and emotional difficulties, helping them to achieve qualifications in English and English Literature.

In my personal life, my family are everything to me. I have two beautiful daughters, in fact my first book "Izzy's Promise" was written for them and it's based around our annual holidays to Woolacombe where we spend time with my sister.

I have written stories for most of my life, never having the confidence to publish. It was the lockdown period of the Covid-19 pandemic which got me thinking about actually going for it, so I got to work and decided to take a risk and follow my lifelong dream. Writing really helped me through the lockdown and I found that the more I wrote, the more the ideas came to me.

I'd like to encourage any person who loves writing to follow their passion and have faith in what you do.
