David Kalloo

David Kalloo was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad. He migrated to London in 1989 and in 2008 he attained a BA (Hons) in Caribbean Studies and Media Studies at London Metropolitan University. He has served as Secretary for the World Carnival Commission, a judge with the London Notting Carnival and Hackney One Carnival. He is also the founder of Culturepulse magazine, an online publication connecting the Caribbean diaspora and beyond.

In 2018 David completed a Masters in International Relations and has since served on the Board of Steel Pan Trust charity, the Trinidad and Tobago Association (UK), Communications Adviser with the FHALMA foundation. He has been the Media Manager for the Notting Hill Carnival Pioneers Festival from 2017 to 2023 and was made Director in 2024.

David has published four books, including Green Mango Chow is his debut novel, Jumbie in Town, Hitchhiking to Montreal and recently published, Portobello Beach.
