Kelly Thune

Kelly Thune is an award winning school administrator from New York State that lead innovation in STEM/STEAM, who has sisu; a Finnish word that loosely translates to having perseverance, integrity, and tenacity when faced with life’s adversity. In 2017, after suffering a traumatic brain injury in the line of duty as a school principal she lost her career, home, identity, and purpose. Kelly traces how an exchange experience to Finland during her youth helped her to build sisu and use it to transform after a series of significant challenges.
