Rachel Brahinsky

Dr. Rachel Brahinsky is human geographer and an associate professor at the University of San Francisco, where she is affiliated with the Politics Department, the Urban Studies program, and the graduate program in Urban & Public Affairs. Her scholarship focuses on race and justice in cities, particularly in California, and she has published articles and book chapters in both academic and popular settings on these topics. A former journalist with a focus on urban policy and social change, her current research investigates the geography of race and property in the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned her Ph.D at UC Berkeley and her BA at Hampshire College.
