Donald Yates

Donald Yates is the author of over 10 books including many popular military history short reads. He is a 20-year veteran of the United States Army who specialized in field artillery, serving tours in Korea, Germany, Iraq, and at various U.S. installations. In addition to field artillery, Yates also had experience working in the Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC), Armor, Recruiting and Military Police fields. Upon retirement in 2005 as a Sergeant First Class, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.

In 2018 Yates earned his master’s degree in Communications from Austin Peay State University. He conducted research in Search Engine Optimization. He did his undergraduate work at Washington State University earning a BA in 2009 in Social Science (cum laude) focusing on History and Anthropology. Yates graduated with honors from all three of his Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development schools.

Yates is also considered an expert and pioneer in web development. In 2020 he released his first book THE SECRETS TO MASS PUBLISH PAGES AND POSTS WITH WORDPRESS. This work explains how to rapidly publish web pages and posts using WordPress and several free or inexpensive tools. Users of his method are able to quickly publish hundreds of pages and posts and then manage those posts conveniently from one spreadsheet that is loaded into WordPress.

While on temporary Army recruiting duty in 1996, Yates developed a website for his recruiting station. Later, the design of that website was used as a template for the first nationwide Army recruiting station network. His sports web domain, VandyMania.com, is among the oldest web domains currently in use.
