Andrea Renee Johnson

Andrea Renée Johnson is a novelist, poet, and spoken word artist whose powerful storytelling explores resilience, identity, and grace. She is the author of the lesbian literary fiction novel Other Women (Q/One Spirit Press, 2020). Raised in an evangelical Christian household in 1980s Iowa, Andrea’s early life was marked by intermittent homelessness and poverty—experiences that deeply inform her writing. Her work masterfully handles themes of overcoming abuse, navigating the coming-out journey, and the complexities of lesbian and bisexual female relationships, often framing faith and spirituality as an invisible yet profound presence in her fiction. She now calls the San Francisco Bay Area home.
