Melinda A. Deterville

Melinda was raised in both Brooklyn, NY, and Prince George’s County, Maryland. Becoming a mother in 2017 inspired her to embrace greater transparency through literature, ultimately leading her to become a children’s book author in the summer of 2020. With experience working in daycare centers, public schools, and charter schools. Melinda brings a deep understanding of children’s growth and learning. She is a wife, mother, author, homesteader, creator and host of Magical Stars Talent Show- a heartwarming event that highlights children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Melinda also created a YouTube channel- BOOKS and PLAY- preschool and elementary learning videos. Her dedication and consistency have even guided her own children to become published authors before the age of six. Melinda has self-published six children’s books so far, all carrying meaningful messages that celebrate the joy of learning and having fun.
