Simie G. Wold Ateneh

Simie G. Wold attended the prestigious General Wingate Secondary School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which Emperor Haile Selassie I envisioned as "The Eton of Africa." He studied engineering at Haile Selassie I University and cartography at the University College London.

In his school days, he was inspired by two prominent world leaders—and when the time came, he made a lifelong pledge from the "Sixties" up to this historic point in time of the twenty-first century to do his share of serving his fellow countrymen and contributing to the collective efforts to transform the nation.

He has been an exceptional professional, providing commendable service to his country for more than half a century.

Briefly, he worked in the energy sector, the airline industry, transportation, commercial and industrial enterprises, non-governmental organizations, the banking and financial sector, and for a decade as an engineering lecturer at Haile Selassie I University in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Such diverse experiences, combined with his commitment to staying current on new technologies, have given him the expertise to carry out many first-and-only implementations in Ethiopia, as well as mega-projects and state-of-the-art buildings, all while saving millions of dollars.

His memoir reveals how dedicated he was to serving his country with unwavering loyalty in order to achieve significant results and set an example to fellow citizens in the spirit of the "Ask Not..." legacy.

The primary motivation for writing this memoir is to inspire and demonstrate to people that much can be accomplished if they have the desire and determination to serve their country and thus make their own mark in life.
