Rupert Green EdD

A Jamaican-born activist-scholar/educator who enjoys interacting with all people to either learn their stories, their life experiences, or to assist them with endeavors to become self-sufficient. He is particularly interested in helping youth acquire the vocational skills to become gainfully employed tax-paying citizens. He enjoys writing research papers that help explain the plight of African Americans and what must be done to help them overcome various pathologies that keep them back. His writings offer insight into his complexity, with whimsical or dense social media posts that either lure participants to discuss a wide range of topics, or frighten them with analyses regarding current and past events informing the hard choices Americans had to make to make America what it is today.

On the lighter side, he loves to cook and share his passion through neighborhood block parties he has organized for the past 15 years. He loves children and wonders why mothers see through his tough demeanor. Hence, even after 49 years in the United States, they still ask him to babysit at times. He once visited Togo, West Africa, and a mother handed him a set of twins, stating they were his. He is the father of smart twin girls and the friend of two other sets who named him "monster.
