Stephen D. Rhoades (November 6, 1976- ) was an Author and Poet who lives in the Pacific Northwest. Occasionally, a poet comes along that unapologetically wields words in such a way that the reader feels every letter of every word pierces every vulnerable area within them. A poet that simplistically, yet profoundly, exposes the hidden secrets of the heart and soul while simultaneously comforting that same heart and soul with the knowledge that they are not alone.
The power of words can never be disputed. Words can aid in healing, as well as destroy. Words are an indicator of what lies beneath the universal façade that humanity hides behind. Words bring out both reality and truth, even when spoken as a lie. In silence we wonder, but with words we know. Perhaps this is best described with this quote by Edgar Allan Poe “Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.”
Stephen D. Rhoades, who earned the nickname “The Modern-Day Edgar Allan Poe” with his unique “Poe” style of writing, has touched many lives with his heartfelt and bluntly honest words that leaves the reader changed in one way or another.
He is the Author of over 30 books, and while poetry is his first love when writing, he also authors short stories, and books dealing with psychology and the occult.
