Allan Rodney Tilley

I, Rodney Allan Tilley, or Allan Rodney Tilley started life confused. My mother wanted to name me Rodney Allan Tilley, but she realized my initials came out as RAT, so she changed by name to Allan Rodney Tilley, so my initials would be ART, but still called me Rodney which confused me from the start. Which leads me to why I am writing books. I am trying to "unconfuse," if that is a word. All my life, from living in various overseas countries with my Air Force father, to becoming a missionary and living again in the Middle East, I want to come to the bottom line of life. I majored in Psychology and became a psychologist, only to leave that profession to become a pastor, again looking for the simple answer to life's hardest questions. As I have become older, I find that I know less and less, so in writing I am trying to put my ideas and words in context as well as the experiences that reflect that thinking. I have lived for extended periods of time in Morocco, England, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Japan, Cyprus, and of course America. In America, I have lived in Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Arizona, Arkansas, and even hippy haven, Oregon. If I am not moving and experiencing new novel places and people, I become bored, so my books are an effort to conquer that boredom with a little wisdom gained from various cultures and places. Some of my books were written just for fun and some for thinking. I have written for magazines, newspapers, websites, but still my mind wanders, exploring new places and experiences I may consume and then write about them, and I will.
