Rhonda N. Smith

Rhonda (Newton) Smith grew up in Maryland and studied French and Spanish in college, then went on to do graduate degrees in Business and Public Policy. After working in the field of affordable housing finance, she took some time to raise her children which was, at the same time, the best and most challenging work she had done to date. One of the highlights was getting to explore and learn alongside the kids as they discovered our world. It was during this time that she had the idea for her book, "When Did God Make the Dinosaurs?" It is an attempt to translate a complex topic into a language that kids can understand.

With her children nearly grown, Rhonda now works for a non-profit that does community development work in rural Haiti. In her free time, Rhonda enjoys biking, kayaking, time with family and friends, and trying new recipes. Her current favorite book is "All the Light You Cannot See" and she looks forward to new adventures lurking around the next corner.
