Kip Smith

Kip Smith became the pastor of Bethany Church in Ellicott City, MD, in September 1991, after receiving his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Pastor Kip was called into ministry after a successful career in business as a Certified Public Accountant and a founding partner in Royster & Smith, CPA’s of Winston-Salem, NC. He and his wife, Debbie (an ordained deacon), were called into ministry after taking the discipleship training study, Masterlife, by Dr. Avery Willis. His favorite verse is Psalm 16:5, “The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places. Indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.” They have nine grandchildren, one of whom, Chase, passed at birth.
