Donna H Duhig

Donna H Duhig is a writer of historical fiction and her debut novel, IN THE END, was released worldwide on 1st July 2020.

Donna was born in a military hospital in Germany and spent the first five years of her life as part of the army family. At the age of five, her parents decided to settle down somewhere more permanently and Lancashire was the chosen destination. Shortly after the move, her parents separated and the remainder of her childhood was spent with her mother.

At school, her favourite subjects were English, history and drama, which she went on to study at A-level. To this day she enjoys anything historical from reading both fiction and non-fiction to visiting British Heritage sites and museums with the family.

Donna has a combined degree in English Literature and Drama with Theatre Studies, although in drama, she preferred the scriptwriting and backstage involvement to performing. She spent the early years of her career life working in accounts until she married and took an extended break to raise a family.

From an early age, she has been writing stories and the decision to pursue her lifelong ambition was made in 2018 when she began the research for her debut novel. With a love of history, the idea for IN THE END came to her easily, and within a year the first draft was completed and six months from then a contract with Purple Parrot Publishing was signed.

Since being published her work has received great reviews and positive feedback, and she is currently writing her second historical novel, WHO WE ARE. At present Donna considers herself an author of historical fiction but she has ideas for different genres in the future.
