Dr. Sharonne Simmons was born in Queens, New York. She is a licensed professional educator who has over seventeen years experience working in North Carolina Public Schools; she has served as an instructional assistant, classroom teacher, and elementary school administrator. While she enjoys working with children in the classroom, one of the scariest situations she has ever experienced was driving a school bus for elementary school children. Though the experience was scary, it was extremely rewarding and eventually fun for her.
Dr. Simmons uses interactions from her own real-life school experiences along with the experiences of other children within the scenarios of her books. She enjoys writing because it makes her feel as though she is living through the lives of the characters.
Currently, she is working on the series Kid Stars Rising. The two books from the series are: The Adventures of Rosebud Middle School and Kai, the Golden Warrior. She is currently working on books three and four, and plans to release both books concurrently in the fall.
She resides in Fayetteville with her husband, their son, and her orange tabby cat, Milo.
