John Bath

John E Bath has a great affection to the area he grew up in. He was born way back in the olden days of 1960 in Fulham, London, as were his parents, grandparents and even some of his Gt grandparents. He was educated there and from the mid 1970s he worked as a gas engineer at Fulham Gas Works. He, along with his mum, dad and both of his sisters all worked at FGW back then. One of the local newspapers, The Fulham Chronicle, even did a feature on them in late 1974, affording them the memorably imaginative appellation of `The Gasboard Five.`

Those gasboard days are far behind him now but he has always, from a very early age, demonstrated an interest in writing. It`s something he has continued to do throughout his life and he says he has no intention of stopping anytime soon.

He prides himself as being fortunate enough to be the type of person who has a very close connection with our non human friends. He has lost count of the times he visited peoples homes to repair a faulty gas fire, or cooker, where they said how honoured he was to be able to handle their cat as they usually hid away from strangers, but as soon as he crouched down and called their name they came straight to him, purring happily as he stroked them. Over the years he has written several songs and many poems, some good, some not so good, and he hopes to release some of his poetry on the general public in the not so distant future.
