Robert Mundy

Robert Mundy is associate professor of English and writing program director at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY. His research focuses on composition theory and pedagogy, masculinity studies, writing center theory and practice, and cultural studies. He has published on the intersection of class, race, sexuality, and masculinity in popular culture; gender, rhetoric, and cultural literacies; and identity politics in writing centers and writing programs. He contributed to and co-edited Out in the Center: Public Controversies and Private Struggles (2018), winner of the 2019 International Writing Centers Book Award, and co-authored Gender, Sexuality, and the Cultural Politics of Men’s Identity: Literacies of Masculinity (2019), a text that considers mass media and contemporary cultural trends to examine masculinity at a point of intense scrutiny and unprecedented change. Robert is presently writing a manuscript that explores tattoo culture, male bodies, and gender counternarratives.
