William D Smyth

I was born in Banff, Canada, and received my PhD in physics from the University of Toronto. For 25+ years I have researched and taught oceanography and climate science at Oregon State University, USA. I was a high-school dropout, a rock musician and a really bad auto mechanic before finally hitting rock bottom as a university professor. I am happiest when at sea. – William D. (Bill) Smyth
