Hello from the central coast of California, where I write in an old office in downtown Santa Cruz that was once a mortuary.

I write primarily in two genres. Maddy Madrigal Mysteries are urban fantasies, a natural extension of my love of all things monstrous. They’re light and fun and include a healthy serving of Mexican food.

My Dark Earth Rising series of eco-horror standalone novels are set in the west, where forest, coastline, and mountains provide the setting as dark entities strike back against the excesses of mankind.

Before I started writing fiction, I worked as a journalist. When my fingers aren’t pounding the keyboard, I’m taking coastal walks with my husband and texting my adult daughters.
