Andrew D. Parker started out life in a church led by the noted apologist and philosopher, Dr. Thomas B. Warren. In college, Andrew studied Bible and Computer Science. One of his class projects was putting together a computer program to sort Scripture references for an index for Jack P. Lewis’ book, The English Bible, from KJV to NIV: A History and Evaluation. Andrew became a successful computer programmer analyst, but his professional interests changed and he turned his talent toward diligently searching through the Scriptures in their original languages. He holds a master’s degree in Bible and a Master of Divinity Equivalency from Abilene Christian University. He was at the top of his classes in graduate level Greek and Hebrew. He studied early Christianity under Everett Ferguson and Greek and Greek New Testament under Dr. Carroll D. Osburn, a note-worthy New Testament textual critic who studied under Bruce M. Metzger, Kurt Aland and Matthew Black, and who, through the encouragement of Eugene Nida, began working with Wycliffe. Andrew has spent over three decades (much of it full-time) reading, studying and researching the scriptures in their original languages, though his primary focus has been on understanding the Greek New Testament. He has translated much of the New Testament, written much about his findings, and has recently published the third edition of Paul Is Misunderstood and Mistranslated: Salvation through the Obedient Faith that Jesus Exemplified, no longer through the Works of the Law of Moses. This work that was years in the making, definitively shows that the Protestant Reformers misunderstood Paul’s “through faith…not by works” polemic, as Paul was battling the Judaizers and Pharisees (read the Talmud or Mishnah), fighting against legalism and working to shut out the Law of Moses as a way of salvation. He could not have been fighting against those who were working to obey the instructions and commands of Jesus in order to become and remain saved (read the gospels and Acts). Parker has also published Understanding The Soteriology of Paul, Probably Not What You Think! He has also published Revelation: Revealing Ancient Understandings, a commentary on the keys necessary to understand Revelation that shows that Revelation is being misunderstood in part because: 1) Revelation is oftentimes not being understood within the ancient context of Jewish eschatology in which it was written (early Christianity was Jewish and had a Jewish eschatology); and 2) it was not given to John in chronological order, though almost everyone is trying to understand it as if it was. The correct context and chronological order make all the difference in trying to understand it.
