Carsten Lexa

My name is Carsten A. Lexa. I am a commercial lawyer, though not the kind typically associated with courtrooms and litigation. I do not represent clients in court or conduct legal proceedings. Instead, for more than 20 years, I advise entrepreneurs, founders, and companies on the issues that truly matter in practice: corporate structures, contracts, strategic decisions, and the clear allocation of responsibility.

The topics of my books emerge directly from my professional work. As a business lawyer, I support start-ups as well as established companies during phases of growth, transformation, and crisis. In addition, I work as an AI trainer and speaker, focusing on the practical use of artificial intelligence in an entrepreneurial context. This combination of legal advisory work, training, and hands-on implementation shapes my writing. My books are not theoretical—they are grounded in real mandates, real projects, and real decision-making situations.

Alongside my legal work, I have spent many years on stage. I am a Vice World Champion and Vice European Champion in debating and served as World President of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance, the largest international organization of young entrepreneurs within the G20 environment. Communication, persuasion, and structured argumentation are therefore not abstract concepts to me, but essential professional skills that strongly influence both my advisory work and my writing.

I came to writing through practice rather than academia. I initially published articles and teaching materials before moving on to books with leading professional publishers. In my books, I write about start-up failure and learning from mistakes, practical contract design, digital skills, the use of AI, sales and pitching, and how entrepreneurial decisions can be prepared and made more effectively. Since 2027, I have also been a regular columnist for the online magazine BASIC thinking, where I comment on economic, legal, and digital developments.

My books are written for people who carry responsibility and need to make sound decisions—without wading through unnecessary jargon. My aim is to make complex legal, economic, and technological issues understandable, practical, and honest. If my books help readers avoid typical mistakes, gain clarity, or approach entrepreneurial challenges with a sharper perspective, they have achieved their purpose.
