Jim Lusk

Jim Lusk started in the Life Insurance business in 1983 with Northwestern Mutual Life after teaching public high school math and physics for 6 years. He founded Retirement Nationwide, Inc. (https://retirementnationwide.com/) in 1985 after he obtained his securities license, paid for over 100 lives per year and qualified for MDRT every year. His focus was serving young families, retiring public employees and closely held private businesses, all three that he still serves and coaches others to serve today.

Jim was a fast track to management because of his desire and talent to teach and coach and spent 20 plus years as a first line manager with New York Life where he “retired” from in 2017 with a sweet lifetime pension. The next day, he switched his DBA to the president (again) of Retirement Nationwide, Inc. and reinvented the firm by recruiting, training, and developing advisors to become the premier Defensive Financial Planning firm in the nation.

Jim is married to Debbie, since 1976, when he was 21 and she was 19. Without her, he says he’d be a lost soul. They have two daughters, Jaimie and Jodi and three grandchildren. He plans to “never retire” and live the rest of his blessed life in Spokane, Washington. His goals are to continue to work hard teaching and training agents, play harder, love his friends and family, travel, give back time and money, golf a little, woodwork in his “man cave,” and enjoy the rest of his life....all knowing that if he dies too soon and/or needs long-term care, his plan for his family and charities is to not leave a mess. His plan is to “die neatly.”
