CR Montoya

CR Montoya has written a series of children’s stories, which he began to publish in 2020. The narrator of his children’s stories is a happy snowman named Papa. CR has an inquisitive mind and is a student of nature. Being out running, especially on trails, is a source of inspiration. His poem Running for a Smile describes his love for running and being outside among nature’s gifts of flora and fauna.

He has placed in several poetry contests and has a poem, titled Inspiring Shadows, which will be published in the 2020 edition of Nassau County Voices in Verse. His poem the Procrastinator in Chief was selected to be included in the Bards Annual Anthology 10th Anniversary edition. His short story, Save The Cause, was selected as the winning story, in the adult age category, at Sagtikos Manor's Spring 2020 contest. CR is an avid reader and enjoys challenges, like competitive running. CR resides on Long Island, NY, with his wife and two dogs.

His snowman friend, Papa, is a graduate of Snowman University and is a world traveler and a lover of all children and everything good. The adventures series is filled with stories about activities that entertain and help children grow. One favorite adventure is a space journey titled Friends on The Planet Htrae. Max travels to earth's sister planet and meets a friendly Htraeian boy named Ada. Htrae is filled with lots of amazing things, like a playground where skateboarding happens in the clouds. Htrae is a colorful, fun place to visit play and read about things that we don't have on earth.

CR published the first episode of the Learning and Growing series in September 2020, titled Polar Bears. This episode provides a look at the plight of these beautiful creatures caused by our planet warming up. The story is an introduction to recycling and the benefits of caring for the earth. The second Learning and Growing episode is an adventure about two boys who build a raft and travel the length of the Mississippi. Along the way they encountered danger, using their wits and skills to avoid tragedy. The tale is filled with historical information presnted in a fun way. Readers can enjoy this exciting and daring adventure while gaining insights in America's history.

All snowpeople are concerned about climate warming, for without snow, they can't exist to bring joy to children. Join Papa and his friends on a joyful journey of fun and learning. One of Papa’s favorite sayings is – “Smile a lot, laugh more, and always be happy!” This statement sums up Papa’s dream for children and the world.
