Katherine Agard strives to foster a love of reading in children at an early age. She has always been inspired by children. Their eccentric personalities and wild imaginations amaze her. Katherine’s book series is titled, ‘The Adventures of Albert the Not -so- Ordinary Elephant’. Albert is unique because he was born without a trunk. However, he doesn’t let that stop him from anything! In her debut book, Albert’s Amazing Discovery, Albert the elephant shows children how life can bring us both good times and bad, and that are always ways to show kindness, even when others might not be kind to us. Children will also learn that sometimes the best things in life can come from sad places and that everything isn’t always as it seems. One thing that Albert says is,” Remember that sometimes, what makes someone different is also what makes them special.” Katherine believes that is also a message that all children need to hear.

Each of her subsequent books are packed with other important messages in a way that children can relate to.
