Natarielle Powell

Natarielle Powell is a native of Savannah, Georgia and a proud graduate of Spelman College. She is the author of Diamonds in my Own Backyard, While You are Waiting, and Before You Write. She taught courses in English, English as a Second Language, and reading at Savannah Technical College for over 7 years before transferring to Technical College of the Lowcountry in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Her philanthropic efforts date back to 1997 when she founded a nonprofit summer program for underserved youth and expanded to a full mentoring program recognized by the Doublemint ACE Foundation and tennis greats, Venus and Serena Williams, with features on CBS Early Show, NBC Nightly News, and several national newspapers and magazines. In addition to this program, Powell has rendered volunteer services to Top Teens of America, Top Ladies of Distinction Inc., Urban Mentoring Academy, the United Way of the Coastal Empire, Ronald McDonald House, Union Mission, and a host of other charitable organizations.

In 2010, Powell established Diamond Publishing and Media Group to assist other creatives in editing,writing, publishing, and marketing books, dissertations, and digital media products, for clients in the United States, Germany and Burkina Faso, Africa. To her credit, she has helped to produce nearly 100 books.

In 2020, Natarielle decided to return to her longtime passion for blogging. As The Book Doctor, she helps creatives write, publish, and market books.
