Deborah McDermott

Deborah McDermott is a married mother of 3 children and 1 crazy Boxer dog named Amber. She lives with her family on the Lincolnshire Coast in England. Deborah had always enjoyed creative writing and drawing from a young age. She also has a passion for books especially children’s picture books. “ Since having my own children and reading books together either from school or from home, I love looking at the beautiful artwork that goes into each individual book. I feel that the illustrator is just as important as the author when creating a book. It’s the illustrators job to bring the story to life”.

Deborah has had wild hedgehog visitors over the years which the family love to watch. This is when the idea of Arcus came about. Finally, June 2020 Arcus The Colourful Tale of a Hedgehog was released. Arcus will be a series of stories featuring our favourite hedgehog and other animal characters. Deborah is currently working on book number 2 called Arcus And The Moon 🌙 Lift Off!!

From January 2023 10% of royalties are being donated to Hedgehog Care based in Lincolnshire . Deborah feels that she wants the hedgehogs to benefit directly from book donations, so her local hedgehog rescue Hedgehog Care is the perfect charity!

Deborah will keep you updated with the release date for her second book called:-
