Joan Collins Owen was born and bred in the back streets of Liverpool and had her teenage years in the exciting swinging sixties. Unlike her famous namesake, Joan was destined for a life in a clothes factory. However her fortunes changed dramatically on meeting Eddie who was to be her soulmate. Joan’s life has had many twists and turns, with more highs and lows than most people have to deal with, but it has taught her how to be resilient, centred on her lovely family and close friends, and to remain positive and outgoing. Joan’s biggest challenge of all has been a devastating illness that wiped Eddie’s memory. He no longer remembers their life together or indeed what happened yesterday. Drawing on her journals, Joan was motivated to write her first book ‘From Liverpool with Love’ for Eddie, so each day he is able to read about their lives together. Thanks to Joan’s constant support, Eddie is able to lead a happy and fulfilled life. Indeed, he says a positive outcome of his loss of memory is that each morning he falls in love with Joan again. ‘From Liverpool with Love’ has been receiving outstanding reviews which has inspired Joan to start planning a further book.
Now with a lovely family of four successful children, and living in a comfortable home in Surrey, Joan is able to devote time to Eddie. She is also committed to working with a domestic violence helpline, a cause that is close to her heart. When she has time, Joan loves to cook for her family and friends.
