M.M. Busby

I am proud to be a retired Florida public-school educator. During my teaching career, I was honored to receive the Florida Center for Teachers Award given by the Florida Humanities Council for my original essay about the Apostle John working as a public-school teacher after living 2000 years on earth. I was certified by the prestigious Renaissance Learning Systems, Inc. as an Accelerated Reader Model and Master Class instructor, contributed to the creation of computerized reading comprehension and literacy programs, and developed a highly acclaimed interactive sing-along system to promote reading fluency.

My writing career includes stage plays/musicals, children's picture books, product training manuals, technical documents, cozy mysteries, and YA fiction under the pseudonyms Mickey Middleton (Small Tails of True Love children's picture books), Mickey MorningGlory (The Trackers Series multicultural paranormal mysteries), M.M. Busby (adult thriller/mystery), Michelle Busby (Holmes & Watson Culinary Whodunit cozy mystery series), and Mickey Lane (inspirational and non-fiction). I am a featured author and contributing editor for Patent Print Books.

The Sabbatical Directive came about as I reflected on my attendance at the Florida Center for Teachers with respect to current events and the idea of using ersatz awards to further the insidious dumbing down of American education as a means to control our country!
