Gary J Weston

In early 2020, Gary J. Weston retired from full-time employment after a 45-year career as a teacher, attorney, nonprofit administrator, and in many other roles. He spent 22 years as Executive Director of three nonprofits that served low-income persons, vulnerable elders, persons with disabilities, and others.

During his career, Gary frequently turned to poetry as both a creative outlet and as a means to support, celebrate, and challenge colleagues. He also wrote poems for family and friends, including for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, reunions, and even funerals.

In his first book--Old, Bold & Not Yet Cold--Gary presented a short collection of thought-provoking and humorous poems about Growing Older, Growing Wiser, and Growing Giddy. Some of these poems are featured in multi-media formats on his YouTube channel, Gary Weston Poems.

His most recent book, Rules for Kids, is designed to help children and families consider, in a lighthearted way, rules that kids may be asked to follow. These include many familiar rules passed along from generation to generation, often in the form of short sayings and well-known adages. Gary hopes that children and their parents, families, and teachers will enjoy the book and use it to advantage during these complicated times.

Gary resides in Tallahassee, Florida with his wife, Patricia.
