I like telling stories. Armed with a bachelor's degree in history I can delve into historical backgrounds with confidence. My stories are realistic and entertaining. I do not strive for literary genius, only to tell a true, honest story in plain words that everyone can understand. I would never tell a story that my grandkids should not or could not read. My stories are good clean fun.

Hi, I am Jim Schmalzried. I am a retired police officer, Buckeye State born and raised. My wife and I are both Youngstown State University graduates. When I had to retired due to a job related back injury, I fell back on my college education and began teaching high school part time for two years. Then k-8 physical education for four years. i have coached high school football, city league softball and currently coach high school track and field and cross country.

I also created, marketed and sold wholesale three educational multiple choice trivia board games for 25 years. Civil War Command, Revolutionary War Command and World War II Command.

My wife, Pam and I have been married for 46 wonderful years. She likes when I write her short stories, so I decided to turn some of them into books. Together we have four beautiful children and seven grandchildren who are all our pride and joy. Collectively my family is my inspiration and motivation.
