Dr. LaTeria Edith Jordan

LaTeria Jordan is a graduate from Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology and an M. Ed. in Special Education. She is also a graduate from Argosy University of Atlanta with an Ed. D in Curriculum & Instruction. LaTeria values education and believes that knowledge is endless.

LaTeria has served as a special educator in the states of TN, GA, and CA over the past 21 years. She has 15 years of experience coaching and mentoring dance lines/majorettes, and auxiliary squads. LaTeria has always been passionate about dance and the arts. This passion is why she chose to write the inspirational story of “I want to be a Dancer” to share with all young girls who have a love for dance—especially girls of color.

Although education and teaching are important to her, she has always found joy in mentoring the youth. She realizes one of her purposes in life is to share with young people the significance of aligning their talents and passions to their career interest. Although she knew her passions early on, she didn’t have assurance to truly pursue them. LaTeria is now confident enough to finally share her artistic gifts through writing.

This book “I want to be a Dancer” is her first book in a series of children’s books. The next projects to be completed is “I want to be an Architect”, and “I want to be a Teacher”. LaTeria is asking that all her readers, family, and friends continue to support her efforts as a writer.

She is praying that by the grace of God, she’s able to catapult her writing into a full-time career and continue to share stories and inspire. Lookout for her newest book on Amazon, “Tweet & Mace”, she co-wrote with fellow author Jerry Davis. This book is about a drum major and his magical mace!
