Adam de Paor-Evans

Dr Adam de Paor-Evans was born in 1971 in the UK and has taught across the disciplines of creative practice since 2001. His scholarship is published widely, and he leads the project 'Rhythm Obscura: Revealing Hidden Histories through Ethnomusicology, Spatio-material Culture, Theory and Praxes'. He is author of the books 'Provincial Headz: British Hip Hop and Critical Regionalism' (Equinox Publishing Ltd., 2020), 'Scratching the Surface: Hip Hop, Remoteness, and Everyday Life' (Squagle House, 2020), and 'Hip Hop in The Sticks: A Deepening Con/Text' (Squagle House, 2023). He is also a practicing hip-hop artist as Project Cee and RARE-GRILLS. de Paor-Evans' work is located in both practice and theory and strives for a symbiotic relationship between these two worlds. The regional-rural is the key context for de Paor-Evans' work, which continually revisits the discussion of music and their associated spatio-material culture and praxes in the non-obvious places of our society- both historically and contemporaneously.
