PHAWNDA MOORE (it's "Fonda," from her Cherokee heritage) has been creating in the worldwide calligraphy community for over 35 years.
Lettering from A to Z is a 2021 winner in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards and in the National Indie Excellence Awards.
She has a degree in English and completed her design education at UCDavis, California. Phawnda learned calligraphy from the world’s best lettering artists, often traveling to study at international conferences and workshops for week-long classes.
A contributing writer on Empty Easel for 3 years, she's had numerous art tutorials published and is a member of several U.S. guilds.
After a creative career as a graphic designer, calligrapher and print rep, Phawnda served as the editor and designer in county and state education, office of communications. Her projects received national recognition from NSPRA and a Clarion Award.
Phawnda loves to teach and share with those who are curious about having a creative life. Students gain an appreciation for traditional design and learn to apply that knowledge successfully, in their own style, using modern tools and materials.
