Roberto Valdes

With more than 20 years of experience in the world of advertising, Mexican filmmaker Roberto Valdés graduated in Communication Sciences in Mexico City and later earned a Master’s Degree in Filmmaking from the NYFA in Los Angeles, California, USA.

He debuted as a filmmaker in 2006 under the guidance of Carlos Santana, directing the artist’s concert in Mexico. Since then, he has directed television commercials, video clips, series, and short films.

His short film Algien (2014) gained international recognition with more than 20 official selections and 11 awards.

In 2015 he participated in the James Bond film Spectre, directing extras in the main sequence filmed in Mexico City.

After living in Italy for several years, Roberto has continued to strengthen his career as a director and screenwriter, also serving as a jury member in international European festivals for five years.

He now resides in Lithuania, where he directs short films and music videos, and teaches Film and Storytelling at Kauno Kolegija.

He is also the author of four books: Guía de Sobrevivencia en Tiempos de Cuarentena El Kosmonauta, Condictum, and his latest novel, The 9th Fort.

His feature film The Dream Fisher is his debut as director, writer, producer, and editor.
