Gene Brown

Brown is a graduate of the Navy School of Music (SOM) and City College of San Francisco. He was married to the former Sachiko (Nina) Takahashi until her passing. The author is a lifetime member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America) and the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). In 2007, Brown was diagnosed with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) as a result of exposure to Agent Orange while serving in the Navy in Vietnam in 1964. He lives in Seattle, Washington with family.
