George Woideck

George Woideck is a visual artist working in Northeast Ohio. Trained as a painter, and taking time off to record and tour as a rock musician, he has developed a career working in architectural ceramics. His public art installations, created from ceramic tile and glass tile mosaic, can be seen in libraries, hospitals, schools and performing arts centers. George is a long-term artist-in-residence for the Ohio Arts Council and The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning; he also and teaches a course in mosaics each summer at Chautauqua in Upstate Western New York. George is married to professor and memoirist Gail Arnoff, with whom he shares children, stepchildren and grandchildren.

George has always loved storytelling. He often uses stories when introducing projects during his artist-in-residences to help enliven students' imaginations. For him, New York has always been a magical city. As a former resident of Brooklyn and Manhattan, he loves its sights, museums, neighborhoods and people. No surprise that the Brooke and Piper series is set there. A sequel to Brooke and Piper, titled Brooke and Piper: The Room With No Door, is now available on Amazon. Part three of the projected trilogy is in the works.
