The late, Christopher LaGrone was born and raised in Arvada, CO. He graduated from Arvada West H.S. in 1995. He played baseball for his Dad where he was the right fielder on the 1994 State Championship team with his friend and teammate, the late Roy Halladay. Chris earned baseball scholarships to Seward County Jr College and University of Nebraska.
After earning a B.S. in Marketing, Chris was able to travel to Europe which fueled his love of history, the arts and world languages. Years later he lived in Guadalajara, MX with a Mexican family learning to speak Spanish.
In 2007 after years of never feeling fulfilled in any of his jobs, Chris decided he would apply to the U.S. Border Patrol. He had high hopes that he would love this position, but it turned out not to be the case. However, it awakened his love of writing and the trilogy began years later.
Fleeing the Past is a fiction account of his experiences as an agent.
In 2018 Chris planned a 6-month adventure to Latin America to become literate in the Spanish language and culture. He had found his place in life while in the Ecela Spanish School, meeting and forming friendships with people from all over the world. Chris died of high altitude sickness 24 hours after arriving in Cusco, Peru where he was to tour Machu Picchu.
I am Sherryl LaGrone, Christopher's mother, a Colorado native and a retired high school teacher. I am carrying forward Chris's dream of publishing The Delta Tango Trilogy, Fleeing the Past is Book 1.
