Andrew Martin currently lives and works in Devon, UK. He studied wildlife illustration in Carmarthen, South Wales, which has imbued his writing and artwork with elemental and natural world imagery. For him, writing poetry follows the same creative process he uses in the generation of his digital pictures. His creations are alive with fractured fractals, shattered symmetries, and images that bleed and repeat, shift and change into each other, like variations on a theme in music.
He has had highly commended poems in both the Bridport Prize and the Hippocrates Prize and was shortlisted for the first Venture Award for a poetry pamphlet He is also the author of the illustrated poetry collection Shoals of Starlings published by Waterhare Press, has appeared on BBC Radio, and pens the popular poetry blog shoalsofstarlings.com.
