Stephen Jermanok

Steve Jermanok is the author of Outside Magazine’s Adventure Guide to New England and New England Seacoast Adventures. He’s also penned chapters for Frommer’s, Lonely Planet, and Discovery Travel guidebooks. He has written more than 700 stories on New England for the Boston Globe, Yankee, Boston Magazine, Boston Herald, AMC Outdoors, and numerous other publications. In 2003, a film he co-wrote with brother Jim, Passionada, was released in over 80 theaters nationwide by Samuel Goldwyn Films. It was primarily filmed in New Bedford and South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. In 2012, he created ActiveTravels, a membership-based boutique travel agency with wife, Lisa Leavitt, that has sent clients on authentic travel experiences across the globe, including creating detailed itineraries for those venturing to New England. He resides in Newton, Massachusetts, with his wife, Lisa, two children, Jake and Melanie, and a favorite white buffalo stuffed animal.
