Larry N. Campbell

Dr. Larry Campbell spent most of his professional career working as a professor in mathematics and mathematics education, split equally (17 years each) between the College of the Ozarks near Branson, MO, and Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. He also spent three years between those stops as President of Ozark Mountain Community Classroom in Branson.

Since retirement, he has been running AfterMath Enterprises, LLC, an umbrella organization for his various activities. Besides doing a variety of presentations and workshops for civic groups and schools, he also puts out a (free) Bi-Weekly Photo/Sharing e-mail blog which combines his photography hobby with several other Monday morning brighteners & tidbits for the week. His Facebook page describes him as "Retired old-fart, mini-adventurer, speaker, author/columnist, and math type".

Campbell’s first book "Rollin’ Down the River: Discovering People and Places Along the Mighty Missouri" [Acclaim Press] was released in July 2017. It details his 2016 seven-week journey, following the Missouri River (by car) from its source in Three Forks, MT, to where it ends near St. Louis, MO.

His two "Spitballs . . ." books (released in 2017 and 2018) are collections of bi-weekly educational columns he has written for the Springfield News-Leader in Springfield, MO.

His latest book, released in January, 2022 is entitled "The Parallel Tao Te Ching: A Comparison of English Translations". It features multiple side-by-side translations (along with comments) for each of the 81 verses of The Tao Te Ching, the most translated book in the world, after the Bible.

Larry and his wife Pat live in Branson, MO. They have two grown children, Christi and Adam.
