Karen Power

Karen primarily works in priority school projects providing leadership coaching in both schools and districts. She loves working with teachers, school and district leaders; building collaborative teams to improve the lives of students. Karen’s personal mission statement is that “when we help the adults in our school system, we help the students.”

She has co-authored the book, Leading with Intention: Eight Areas of for Reflection and Planning in Your PLC at Work and most recently edited a Canadian edition of Learning by Doing. She is currently co-writing a literacy leadership guide for school and district leaders and will soon begin work on a follow up book to Leading with Intention. Karen served as a district superintendent in New Brunswick, Canada as well as being a school principal and assistant principal. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, Karen was selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in the Public Sector by the Women’s Executive Network.
