JAMES MATTHEW DYET

James Matthew Dyet is an author with a long-standing passion for storytelling, mystery, and the challenge of creating crimes that keep readers questioning what really happened until the final pieces fall into place.

He has been writing books since 2010 and now, in retirement, has more time to devote to the stories and creative projects he enjoys. His Peter Stewart’s Murder Cases series reflects his fascination with unusual investigations, hidden motives, seemingly impossible murders, wrongful accusations, serial killers, revenge, deception, and the many unexpected ways a mystery can unfold.

Rather than relying on a single type of crime, James enjoys placing his characters in very different situations, where evidence may be missing, suspects may have perfect alibis, and what first appears obvious can quickly become something far more complicated. Through Peter Stewart and the investigators around him, each case becomes a new puzzle to unravel.

Writing is both a hobby and a genuine source of enjoyment for James. For him, one of the greatest rewards is knowing that readers may experience the same curiosity, suspense, and entertainment while reading his stories that he experienced while creating them. Having worked with traditional publishers in the past, he has also come to appreciate the opportunities independent publishing provides for bringing more of his work directly to readers.

Away from writing, James enjoys DIY projects and has followed a vegetarian lifestyle for more than four decades, becoming vegan in recent years. He also recently experienced the loss of his much-loved little companion, Penny, who had been an important part of his life and is greatly missed.

James continues to write because he enjoys telling stories, developing new mysteries, and imagining the next difficult case for his characters to solve. With many more ideas still to explore, Peter Stewart’s Murder Cases is part of an ongoing journey and James hopes readers enjoy solving each mystery alongside Peter as much as he enjoys writing them.
